DRESDA

Any progress with the Dresda? New tank fitted yet etc?

Using ethanol-free race gas in current fiberglass tank as I wait on Dresda to get me identical in alloy, so a month or two to go.

Rode the bike a few times short distances, and tbh I much prefer the Ducati Street Fighter SP; it's a fun little bike, but I think it's more of a display piece vs something I will actually be using.

Wow!

What was the hold up?

Well you know what they say… patience is a virtue…!
Getting it hand crafted took forever, and then first ship attempt 2 weeks ago resulted in a lost package which was returned back to Dresda, and shipped out today again. Here's hoping it won't get "lost" once more...

After crashing the Ducati Streetfighter SP2 at the track, I replaced it with a Panigale R that i have not even had time to ride.....but I will get the Dresda sorted out over this weekend assuming tank does get here....

Can you recall who you used to ship your Dresda across the pond ?

And, do they ship the other way, US to UK ?

And, would you recommend them ??

I will willfully continue to forget who shipped the Dresda because it was an awful experience!

Looks the bollox…!

DRESDA

In the olden days, it was not possible to buy a Manx Norton engine on its own from the factory, and to buy a complete Manx, you usually needed to be a 'name rider' I rode a 500cc short stroke Triton for about 5 years from about 1969 in 'Allpowers C grade', before I rode a Manx. And I have ridden my 'friends' 650 Triton which has its motor in the same position as the one in the photo in the beginning of this topic. Until I rode a genuine 1961 500cc Manx Norton, I did not know what was possible in motorcycle handling. I rode in the first Historic race in Victoria in 1973. Steve Oszko was there with the most developed Manx in Victoria - he had retired from A grade about 3 years before I began racing. I blitzed the whole field off the start, then slowed down and waited for Steve. As he caught me, I accelerated and we made a race of it - I could not out-ride him. We crossed the line together, and he was probably out of practice. I had raced against Z900 and H2 Kawasakis and lots of other two-strokes.
